Will movie theaters become a novelty (like drive-ins) as more digital media can be experienced at home?
It would be cheaper for them to cut out the middle men (theaters). I would hate to see movie theaters take a nose dive in the future. There's nothing like seeing a movie on the big screen (even though many home theater systems are rivaling the commercial ones).
I highly doubt it. People want to get away from the everyday slump of life. The experience you get in a movie theatre can not be recreated in your own home. Going to a flick will never be outdated,
I must add that the new digital liquid projectors are magnificent. I'm hoping theatres closer to where I live will get that quality soon.
