Is our obsession with celebrities eroding national laws?
It seems to me that everywhere you turn, someone is breaking the law - except, apparently, if your face is on tv or in a magazine, the laws don't apply to you. Case in point: Britney Spears driving with her son on her lap & Lindsey Lohan sporting an AA badge several times (she's 20, last I checked the legal drinking age was 21!). And now today I saw a 17 year old girl on a reality tv show smoking and drinking!
Is it me or is there something seriously wrong with this picture??
You are absolutely right. celebrities break the law and get off very quickly without any trouble. This is because of their powerful image and money they posses. But how come this is related to "our obsession"? Its up to the law enforcement agencies to implement the law, which is same for everybody. They are biased in deciding and doing their duty when it comes to taking action against a celebrity or a big shot. And yes, there is something seriously wrong with the picture and you are not alone.
