What's the price increment of a traffic ticket (california) after it got sent to a collection agent?
My cousin got a ticket in June; the court date was in July but he didn't go. Now the ticket is handled by the collector agent. The ticket was for failure to yield to pedestrians ( perhaps under $300) and his balance is $860 now. I wanted to know the break down of this price : how much is the penalty of missing the court and what's the monthly or weekly increment? What will be the increment if he starts paying for it now?

You should ask for a breakdown as many collection agencies charge a fee also.
They have to abide by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 USC 1692 -
